Comhear Inc., the San Diego-based audio technology company, announced today the conclusion of a successful Kickstarter campaign for YARRA 3DX™ and the launch of its subsequent Indiegogo campaign, driven by popular demand. The industry-first 3D-audio sound bar, powered by the company’s patented MyBeam™ technology, reached 1,476 percent of its goal on Kickstarter with nearly two thousand backers, raising a total of $738,184 to bring the product to market Q1 2018. The move to Indiegogo will continue allowing crowdfund backers the opportunity to receive early-bird discounts through the rest of the year.

The Indiegogo campaign kicks off today and will end on Monday, January 8, 2018. Funds will be used to bring the company’s working prototypes to market-ready retail units. Early backers of the Indiegogo campaign can secure one or more YARRA 3DX units, which come with an accompanying subwoofer, setup DVD, six high-resolution surround music albums from AIX Records, and control app, starting at $349, a steep discount off the retail price of $599.

“We are extremely pleased with the support received during the Kickstarter campaign,” said Gerry Chastelet, CEO of Comhear. “Raising almost three quarters of a million dollars through the program is nothing short of outstanding. The favorable reaction to YARRA 3DX further validates this industry-first, 3D-audio technology and its ability to revolutionize the way listeners experience audio. Our decision to move to Indiegogo was quite simple, as it allows supporters of this revolutionary technology to continue pledging and a wider audience of new backers the opportunity to be amongst the first to experience YARRA 3DX early next year.”

YARRA 3DX is Comhear’s first consumer product and is designed to provide high fidelity sound reproduction for gaming, music, home theater, VR/AR, and teleconferencing. The groundbreaking beamforming technology that makes YARRA 3DX possible — MyBeam™ — was developed in conjunction with researchers at University of California San Diego (UCSD) and has already won several awards this year including the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Innovation Award and an “Alfie” from the LA Audio Show (LAAS) for superior technological achievement.

Offering both wired and wireless connectivity, analog and digital inputs (USB and HDMI), YARRA 3DX can be used individually or as a part of a home entertainment network. YARRA 3DX is small, simple, elegantly designed, and available in either silver or black. The YARRA 3DX app allows users to control settings and sound parameters including localization, near field and far field settings, music, game and movie modes and firmware updates.

In addition to the success of Comhear’s Kickstarter campaign, the company has achieved a series of major 2017 milestones, including the relocation of its corporate headquarters, the expansion of its leadership team, as well as the completion of a $12 million capital raise.
